See, now that's what I'm getting at. A youtube video is enough? You seriously have to question your methods if you ban someone on a porn site for something that was hosted on easily the most policed G-rated medium on the internet. What about that video of the dog getting up on it's hind legs and wanking? Would that be ban/kickworthy as well? It's obviously meant to be humorous, but it has a dog doing something sexual. Is that just as verboten as a video of a chick getting railed by a doberman? It's a problem of no tolerance. For example, I was ribbed awhile ago for mentioning a natural biological phenomenon that occurs in ducks, called "rape flights". Even though it's something inherent to the lives of ducks and I learned the concept in something like the 8th grade, apparently biology is taboo because technically... rape! The Oxford dictionary even uses racial slurs for examples or to illustrate a point, but I got kicked for using one as an example, in quotes, because technically.. oh no! Do you get that? Because of a handful of staff, this site is more conservative than a site that embodies a nazi-like devotion to their terms of service (youtube), and what is arguably the most well-regarded academic universities in the world. That's just not right, and I stay out of the chat because of it :\ I'm not deluding myself in thinking I'm going to pioneer an uprising or something ridiculous like that, but I do have legitimate complaints. In my experience in modding and staffing here on ye olde intarwebs, no tolerance NEVER works in the long run, especially when trying to build community. A cop will probably get complaints made about him from a couple of people if he pulls over 100 different people, but if he starts pulling over people for going 1 mph over the speedlimit? You can guarantee most of those people would be calling in. To see a few staff here repeating mistakes I've seen people new to moderating do kind of bothers me, because there's so many other staff here that can guide them and make sure they don't do things that are that silly.

Oh for crying out loud, it doesn't matter if any of us like it, it's not up to us. They'll run the site how they want regardless. I do my best to make sure that everyone is having fun and that if there was someone checking up on the room that there would be no red flags about the type of things that go on in chat. I don't agree with all the rules or the way they are enforced, but who the heck cares? It's for entertainment purposes and if you don't like it you're not out any subscription fee or anything. Go somewhere else! -

Why would there be any reason what so ever to post a link to any kind of (sexual) animal activity in the chat room? I find it hard to believe that an amimal video could serve any purpose what so ever in a chat room. So why was it posted in the first place? Animals do things by natural instinct, unaware for the most parts of their actions, but does that make it fair game for amusment at an adult web site? What purpose did it serve by posting it, was there a point to be made, was there something that was so out of the ordinary that perhaps we hadn't seen it before. Or was it juvenile humor imposed upon others in an open forum, in other words, unwanted and unrequested? So how can you justify any reason what so ever for posting such a video? If this is in fact an 'adult' site as so many of you constantly remind us of, then how is this behaviour acceptable. It does not matter how Youtube or any other website conducts their business, as mods and admin, our only concern is how folks conduct themselves at this website, plain and simple.
Why would anyone use the word rape in the lobby of the chat room? When you take the word rape, I find it hard to take it in any other context other than what the word means.

Now show me a legitimate reason for even bringing up the word in the chat lobby. I don't care what context the word came up in, whether it was some 'biological' actions of a duck or what ever, it has no place in chat at this website.
Contrary to what some of you folks may think, the mods and admins go through lenghty discussions each time a situation of this nature arises. We do in fact discuss the nature in which things are said and to what context. While the 'rape' topic is allowed in private conversations and referred to in some of the site videos, we leave that up to the individual to decide for him/her self if that is something they wish to view or participate in, but we will not allow it to be imposed upon others. Knowing the reality of what 'rape' can mean to some individuals and the sensitive nature when a subject like that is brought up, it was decided as site policy that it not be allowed in the chat lobby. Therefore a strict enforcement of that rule is in place and it will not be tolerated in any fashion, regardless of the intended meaning of the conversation.
So yes we do give a shit. Our job is not always a fun job, sometimes hard decisions have to be made and they may not always be the popular decision. It is our job to follow the guidelines and rules set up by the owners of this site. It is your responsibility as guest to follow those rules as well. When they are not followed, we have to play the badguys in some cases, but it is never without merit, regardless of your personal perception of the incident.
It is in fact perception vs. reality, while it may be your perception that such behavior is acceptable, the reality of it is, that you violated the basic rules and guidelines as posted. The basic rules and guidelines that you agreed upon when you made a concious choice to click 'I understand/I accept' when entering the chat lobby. If you broke a rule then you have no one else to blame. Take responsibility for your own actions and stop blaming others for your ignorance and negligence of these policies.

vr, you made it a point to constantly brag to the lobby how often you had been kicked/banned, something along the lines of like 500 times and now that you actually do get banned, you whine about it like a baby. You attack without provocation, you constantly belittle the mods and admins, you disrupt chat with your nonsense and basically folks had just gotten tired ot it. You had been warned time after time, by me and by others, but yet you still felt the need to continue on with your unwarranted rants in the lobby. When the discussion to ban you came up, it wasn't mods and admins sitting around talking shit about you. We voiced numerous guest complaints as well the personal attacks that you had made against the mods/admin themselves. Each of us did voice concerns over the situation, but it never got down to a 'bash vr' session like you want folks to think. Many of the mods/admin in fact did view you as a friend, but your actions had made it so that it was decided that the best action for the chat as a whole was to give you a ban. Why you choose to drag everyone through the mud is beyond me, we were very upfront and firm in our decision. In fact if you want to know the whole truth, I actually bowed out when it came time to make the final decision. After your constant berating of littlekitty in the lobby and me kicking you, I voiced that I would not participate for the simple fact that I did not want you to think that the ban was a personal issue. Your ban was based on the simple fact that you never knew when to let things go, you had to constantly campain your personal agenda against certain mod/admin in the lobby, which was deemed disruptive beyond the point of acceptance. Simply put your were banned for violating the rule of making personal attacks against other guest/mod/admin. Say what you will, but when you say it, at least keep your facts straight. You were by no means an innocent bystander in any of this, you provoked the situation and openly braggged about how you 'wished we would ban you'. All I can say is be careful what you ask for, because you may get it.
If you have caps and vids as you say you do, then present your case to the owners of the site and be done with it. It's time to either step up or sit down and be quite and accept the fact that 'you' were the only person that brought this on to themselves. Don't blame us for your actions and don't blame us for taking action when it was clearly justified and merited.

Because you'll get banned and kicked here for things that are perfectly acceptable on sites that are much bigger and cater to an audience that ISN'T a bunch of adults looking for spank material. Msindi, I'm not saying this overall, I'm specifically talking about a few people in the staff, and the reactions here from yourself, elizaa and books only serve to illustrate my point further :P things are so entrenched that ANY criticism, especially constructive criticism such as my own, is offensive and the entire staff goes defensive.
VR: I know what I'm doing, thanks. I've been around the internet a time or two, I don't have any grand dreams of destroying the site or something ridiculous like that. I'm not going to not say anything, though.

Suid, the only problem you have with chat is this...you used the N word...which last I checked was hella racist...but since you were simply paraphrasing against an asshole....I only kicked you..but by admin/mod normal regulations..you would've been a permanent ban, so now you have an issue with chat....I'm sorry, but I just couldn't ignore that, and if you had actually come back and stayed (instead of coming in...making snide comments about other users remaining in chat when you thought they deserved otherwise)...you would've seen that I had banned...said user. So like..this bashing shit is old, especially when no one has done anything to you. Like...let vr has this out with everyone...it's her situation, why are you involving yourself for the sake of an argument? Again, please stop accusing me of doing/being things. I have critiques about the chat, I do not name anyone specifically, but you come in to specifically call me out and tell me I'm being butthurt. If I was "butthurt" I would be going out of my way to make sure eeeeeeveryone knew I was wrong, rather than politely stating criticisms I have about things on the site. I'm not some come-back-by-proxy-server troll here, I really don't feel the way you're talking to me is warranted.

This hasn't been MY situation, hence my lack of critiquing, I also have no problem in chat ever other than usual trolls and whatnot...soo...I haven't said anything. I just think it's annoying you keep saying 'staff' that includes every mod and admin, including myself, and aside from that ONE time, nothing has ever happened to you in chat...at least that I've seen, so I don't understand why you're complaining about it, I mean go ahead, you can say what you want, but don't just immediately cast judgment on every mod/admin because you have an issue with the way a couple of them handle things.

My head started hurting from all the drama in the other thread. And many of the people I linked to the Chat room rules thread were confused about what was going on and even upset. Some even asked if they should bother coming back to the chat room if there was so much drama on a porn site which was supposed to take them away from the drama of reality.
Luckily I convinced them that chat room is a friendly place but has people who don't agree with the rules or methods of others. Anyways, great idea Scarlet. Like Books said, this was much needed.
